BSH-Talk: Marispace-X - a European maritime data space based on decentralised structures: relevance for public administration

Marispace-X (Maritime Smart Sensor Data Space X) is one of the lighthouse projects within the framework of the European Gaia-X initiative promoted by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. This serves to establish a federal and secure European data infrastructure.

The project aims to create a digital maritime data space. A variety of interfaces to the tasks of the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) and maritime surveillance are conceivable. There are currently four use cases, including offshore wind power, ammunition dumps in the sea and biological climate protection (seaweed).
